Our Purpose

Catholic Charismatic Renewal International Service (CHARIS) is at the service of all expressions for Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) worldwide, a current of grace flowing through the Catholic Church, a fruit of the Second Vatican Council. Common to all expressions of the CCR is the experience of the fruits of Pentecost through an outpouring of spiritual gifts called baptism in the Holy Spirit, involving a personal encounter with Jesus Christ as Saviour, an openness to the Word of God, to exercising the charisms and to evangelisation in faithful service to the Church. CHARIS promotes and strengthens communion among all Charismatic realities, fostering a sense of the worldwide family of Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Current of Grace!

“Share with all in the Church the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, praise the Lord ceaselessly, walk together with Christians of different Churches and Christian communities in prayer and in action for those most in need. …
… Serve the poorest and the sick, this is what the Church and the Pope expect of you, Catholic Charismatic Renewal, but from all of you: all of you who have entered in this current of grace!”

~ Pope Francis, June 2017

“How then could this “spiritual renewal” not be “a chance” for the church and for the world? And how, in this case, could one not take all the means to ensure that it remains so?

– Pope Paul VI, 19 May 1975

I am convinced that this movement is a sign of His action (of the Spirit). The world is much in need of this action of the Holy Spirit, and it needs many instruments for this action. [...] Now I see this movement, this activity everywhere.

– Pope John Paul II, 11 December 1979

...one of the positive elements and aspects of the Community of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is precisely their emphasis on the charisms or gifts of the Holy Spirit and their merit lies in having recalled their topicality in the Church.

– Pope Benedict XVI, 31 October 2008

Your movement’s birth was willed by the Holy Spirit to be 'a current of grace in the Church and for the Church'. This is your identity: to be a current of grace.

– Pope Francis, 1 June 2014

This is dummy copy. It's Greek to you. Unless, of course, you're Greek, in which case, it really makes no sense. Why, you can't even read it! It is strictly for mock-ups. You may mock it up as strictly as you wish.
